There is no Planet B
“Our world isn’t “dying,” it is actively being killed.” -Kenny Moll
I’ve mentioned him before, and I’ll mention him again. Kenny Moll. He is an artist, a collaborator, an activist, and a friend. He is also an incredible athlete—dare I say it—a super athlete. During quarantine, Kenny became obsessive about running and marathon training. One day he realized he could combine his efforts with his participation in fighting climate change, an objective dear to his heart.
Starting on June 26th, Kenny will attempt to run 7 marathons in 7 consecutive days on the Chicago Lakefront. He is inspired by Erchana Murray-Bartlett, an Australian woman who ran 150 marathons in 150 days across Australia raising awareness to help fight changes they were seeing in their own ecosystem.
There is no Planet B (Thanks Gizz). Kenny sees that. I think a lot of us do… we just don’t know where to put our efforts. Or maybe we think that we are too small to make a difference. I, unfortunately, have felt that way before. Kenny, on the other hand, is taking action and putting his mind, body, and health on the line for all of us. He is putting in the fucking work.
What draws me personally to this story is that it truly does not matter if Kenny is successful in his attempt or not. What matters is the attempt. To me, he is already successful.
He is engaging within some of the deepest depths of the creative act. A painstaking journey that only the fiercely devoted can truly explore.

If you are in Chicago between June 26th and July 2nd, come out to the lakefront to cheer Kenny on. Below is the course he will be following.
7 in 7 heavily relies on spreading awareness, so if you feel empowered by his message, please share. Kenny and I are excited to be working on a documentary release following the project. More updates to come.
